Welcome to my 5th grade classroom and the 2023-2024 school year! Because I live in this school district and my children have attended school here, I feel this is truly my home! The 2023-2024 school year begins my 25 year as an educator and my 15th year at O'Rourke. I received my bachelor's degree from Spring Hill College in 1999.  Throughout my career I have taught 2nd, 4th, 5th, and reading intervention.

My husband and I have 2 children.  Emily attends Auburn University and Riley is a junior at Baker High School. 

Each and every day I require students to be involved in and responsible for their learning. Middle school is just around the corner, so 5th grade is the time to develop organizational skills and a sense of responsibility. Quality work, effort, and acceptable behaviors lead to growth and success and are "must dos" in my classroom on a daily basis. I am looking forward to getting to know a wonderful group of students and parents!
